CST

In their own words:

United Kingdom – Community Security Trust (CST) is a UK-based charity that protects British Jews from antisemitism and related threats. CST received charitable status in 1994 and is recognised by the Police and Government as a unique model of best practice. CST employs almost 100 staff members and has several thousand volunteers across the UK. CST provides security advice and training for Jewish communal organisations, schools and synagogues. CST secures over 650 Jewish communal buildings and approximately 1,000 communal events every year. CST works across the Jewish community, from the most religious to the most secular, young to old, across the political spectrum and throughout the whole of the UK. We depend on our valued relationships with all Jewish community organisations to do our work facilitating Jewish life. CST believes that building better relations across communities is key to reducing prejudice and bigotry of all forms. CST uses its expertise to make practical contributions across society. This includes our having given security advice to Hindu Temples, Sikh Gurdwaras, Churches and Mosques around the UK. CST helped in the creation of Tell MAMA, a Muslim community initiative to measure and combat anti-Muslim hate crimes. CST’s hate crime booklet, funded by the Home Office, uses CST’s experience and knowledge to help other community groups establish hate crime reporting networks.
