Team “Run Against Hate” participates in the Amsterdam Marathon 7.5K on 17 October to draw attention to online hate and to raise donations for INACH’s monitoring work. We are grateful for their support!
Why?
Online hate is not a fringe issue. It leads to stress, fear and feelings of unsafety. Not only to those targeted, but also to anyone reading the negative content. Hateful content drives real-world violence, silences minority voices, and erodes the foundations of democratic societies. This is a systemic problem that requires systemic solutions.
Who is INACH?
INACH is an international coalition of NGOs that has been tackling online hate since 2002. We monitor illegal and harmful content across social media platforms, report violations to the platforms themselves, and relentlessly follow up until content is removed. Where platforms fail to act, we escalate by bringing evidence of non-compliance to the European Commission and other regulators to ensure tech companies are held to both the law and their own commitments.
What are the donations used for?
Your donations fund our anti-hate monitoring work directly.
- €40= Fund a week of monitoring of one major platform and reporting of at least 5 illegal hate speech cases
- €100= Support 5 appeals to EU dispute bodies under the Digital Services Act (DSA) for hate content that platforms have ignored
- €400= Contribute to a coordinated cross-border monitoring INACH report that holds tech companies publicly accountable

The scale of online discrimination is vast, and this is a problem the police cannot tackle alone. That is precisely why organizations like INACH are so important.
— Gregory van Geene, Specialized Discrimination Investigator at the Amsterdam Police
I run against hate because everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and free to be themselves. Running reminds me that progress takes persistence and I bring that same belief to the fight against hate.
— Adinde Schoorl, INACH Staff
I am running because I have volunteered with INACH before and see how their reserach and advocacy helps create digital spaces that support users safety.
— Fox Oliver, Student at University of Amsterdam
This year, I became a mother, and through my work I have also seen the very real effects that online hate can have on people of all ages. Becoming a parent has made this work feel even more personal. I want to contribute to building a safer and more responsible internet for my child and for future generations.
— Naomi Tidball, INACH Staff
