Sixth Monitoring Report: ECRI Report on the Netherlands.

Sixth Monitoring Report: ECRI Report on the Netherlands.

Every five years, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), an independent human rights monitoring body founded by the Council of Europe, reports a set of findings and recommendations aimed at combatting different forms of discrimination and intolerance for each of its member states. On March 3, 2026, ECRI published its sixth report for the Netherlands. This report documents important progress and areas for improvement in combatting discrimination, and spans across domains such as legislation, education, healthcare, and law enforcement.

Furthermore, it highlights both progress made by Dutch authorities and ongoing challenges, including the persistence of hate speech, rising discrimination incidents, and the impact of political polarization on public discourse. The report also provides a series of recommendations aimed at strengthening protections for vulnerable groups and improving responses to racism and intolerance.
